Microdermabrasion is a modern method of mechanical exfoliation of stratum corneum of the epidermis. Thanks to the instantly visible effects, it is one of the most popular treatments chosen by the customers. During the diamond microdermabrasion, the effect of exfoliation can be achieved by rubbing the epidermis with the diamond covered head and a vacuum sucking action to remove the dead skin cells.
Microdermabrasion contains natural diamond (not synthetic diamonds nor micro crystals of unknown origin). The technique of performing the treatment is similar to powder microdermabrasion, however, using corundum or other powders may cause particles to remain in the skin, where the long-term results are still unknown, and may also cause allergic reactions. By using diamond microdermabrasion, we can avoid this risk. This method allows for gradual, controlled, mechanical removal of epidermis, layer by layer, until the desired effects are acheived taking into consideration the individual skin needs.
Removing the upper layers of the epidermis also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, and the natural process of skin renewal. As a result of removing the upper layers of the epidermis, the skin becomes smoother, brighter and rejuvenated after just the first treatment. Deeper microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of scars and stretch marks, small wrinkles, enlarged pores and discolorations. Histological changes are not only in the epidermis, but also in the dermis (microdermabrasion also stimulates the micro circulation and lymph flow, speeding up toxin removal from deeper layers of the skin).
Unquestionable advantages of this treatment is the fact that it is quick, easy, pain free the patient is not restricted from going about their normal everyday life.
Although microdermabrasion is usually used for treating the face, neck and shoulders, we are also able to perform this treatment on the buttocks, thighs, back, etc.
